Near vertically dipping rock layers with a shore parallel strike crop out in the upper part of the intertidal area. The most landward outcrop shows a shore-perpendicular erosion notch (orange children's spade about 0.6m high for scale). The intense smoothing of the upper part of the platform is the result of episodic shingle and cobble cover.
