Wave data are recorded using a Datawell Directional WaveRider Mk III buoy which is owned by Wave Hub Ltd, who have kindly agreed to make both their real-time and archived data freely available to other users via this website.
The buoy was deployed on 22 May 2015, at which time the magnetic declination at the site was 2.65° west, changing by 0.15° east per year. Wave direction is reported following the nautical convention, meaning that the direction is where the waves come from, measured clockwise from magnetic north.
The buoy was decommissioned on 06 June 2018.
